Our Yiju factory is a proffessinal factory producing rubber belts, We are one of leading manufacturer in research, design, manufactering and distributing various power transmission belts in china, our products cover Auto Transmission belt such as cogged V-belt, Ribbed V-belts, timing belts, Industial transmission belt such as REL&REP belt, etc. Here are some common belt failure analysis:

Failures Causes Solutions
The belt breaks after a short period of operation Forced installation leads to the destruction of tension Use appropriate installation according to the instructions
Drive is blocked Remove the blocking object
Foreign objects enter during operation Install the protective cover
The belt size used is too small, and the number of belts is insufficient Check the drive and readjust
Excessive wear on belt edge Tension is too low Check tension and readjust
Starting torque is too high Check drive and readjust
Pulley groove is worn Replace pulley
Belt/groove misalignment Check belt or groove section
Groove angle is wrong Re-adjust or replace pulley
Pulleys are not in the same plane Align pulley
Pulley is too small, below the recommended minimum value Increase pulley size
Belt slips or hits protrusions Remove protrusions or realign drive
Cuts or cracks at the bottom of the belt (brittleness) The position and size of the outer driven pulley do not match the recommendations of Yiju Re-adjust drive tension according to installation instructions. Check drive and redesign, if necessary, using smallest pulley diameter.
Abnormal belt slippage Re-adjust drive tension according to installation instructions. Check drive and redesign, if necessary, using smallest pulley diameter.
Ambient temperature is too high Ensure good ventilation and protect the belt from direct sunlight
Ambient temperature is too low Warm the environment around the drive unit and belt before use
Affected by chemical substances Protect the drive from contamination
